Cold Water Therapy

Cold water therapy is the practice of using water that is at or below 15°C to stimulate health benefits. It’s also known as ‘cold water plunging or immersion’.

What is Cold Water Therapy?

Jumping into cold water has been practiced since the beginning of time, but in our comfortable modern world we are less inclined to do so! Most of us are afraid of cold water or at the very least “don’t like it”. The reason is that it requires a deep sense of mind control and determination to withstand freezing cold temps, and also – we have been told that the cold water will hurt us.

Research shows that with correct training and guidance this is far from the case. From ice baths, to river plunges and 30sec cold showers, there are many reasons to get cold and get into it!

Benefits of cold water

improve mental health

less inflammation

better recovery

boost your immune system

increase self empowerment

weight loss

body temp regulation

Who is it for?

Anyone who is ready to improve their health, or anyone who has felt a little flat and uninspired. (Not for pregnant women, those with CVD, recent surgery, always check with doc if unsure.)

There is nothing quite like the shock and adaptation to being in cold water to reignite the fire inside of you.
