doTERRA essential oils

I have been using doTerra essential oils since 2013 on myself, my kids and my clients.

I use essential oils primarily as a well-being tool for mental and physical support.

You can purchase oils HERE

Spotlight on Magnolia

(because this is my favourite oil and deserves its own post)

magnolia doterra essential oil

This oil is primarily “linalool” which is a compound that is floral and spicyIt is found in over 200 plants such as citrus fruits.

It is known as a natural anxiolytic, meaning it decreases anxiety symptoms and perceptions of stress. It does this by activating the parasympathetic nervous system, which helps us to calm down and rest and digest more efficiently.

Linalool has been shown in animal studies (1) to affect the central nervous system, and affect our neurotransmitters (this is what white wine does as well!) which is why it serves as a compound that can help calm the farm!

Being that drinking wine to help calm you down is potentially problematic, this is why I like the idea of keeping an essential oil blend with you at work – it is much better for your career in the long term!

Using an adaptogen (2)- such as magnolia – means that you are supporting your body in a holistic way, rather than being specific and targeting just one area. Adaptogens protect you against stress and stress-related disorders.

We can be smart in our “war on anxiety” when we think about using doterra essential oils in conjunction with healthy lifestyle habits.

1: hydration (good quality, regular intake of water)

2: nutrition (unprocessed, balanced and complete foods)

3: movement (not smashing yourself in the gym, but intuitive movement and stretching that doesnt over-stress your nervous system)

4: rest (knowing that yin yoga, meditation and ofcourse the good ol’ reading a book laying in a hammock routine, can actually help you to be fitter and healthier in the long term (because you are giving your body a chance to renew and repair) )

5: the use of essential oils known for their anti-anxiety properties used in a meaningful way.

For support on using oils for home, life, motivation, career, inspiration, health and anything else you can think of, get in touch with Belle for a consult. She has been using the essential oils for almost ten years as a first-point of call tool (and 25yrs as a massage therapist using essential oils!) No one understands oils quite like Belle does.
